Farm Update: we're still planting!
Dear farm friends and supporters,
In these uncertain times we want to reach out to all of you with an update about our plans for this season. With the continuation of the Duncan Farmers Market questionable this summer, and because many of our regular customers may prefer not to attend, we are starting to make alternate plans for how to get our produce to you!
To be clear we are planning to continue farming this season and we're grateful to have all our seeds and inputs on hand already. While we expect this to be our most challenging season ever, we are prepared to work our butts off and get creative with marketing.
For now our first decision is to not limit the number of people who can sign up for our Harvest Box. Currently registration is still open on our website: https://tatloroadfarm.com/csa. At the moment we are not changing any of the details described there, but depending on how the next few weeks play out and the amount of interest in this program, we will consider adding new options such as alternate pick up locations, home delivery, and different box sizes. We will be in touch to let you know if we make any of these changes. We feel this program is the safest way to deliver produce to you, with minimal handling and personal interaction. Even if you typically prefer to shop from us at market, please consider this option for this season as a way to continue supporting our farm and ensuring you have access to fresh, local, organic produce!
For those of you who have already purchased a Farm Friend Card, which is typically used at our farmers market, we will stay in touch as the season progresses (typically we do not start attending markets until mid-late April). We will follow up with all our card holders in a few weeks once we have a better idea of what is happening with the Duncan Farmers Market.
We're still about a month away from harvesting our first produce of the season, but when we do we will let you know where to find it. You will likely see more of our vegetables at the Community Farm Store this year and we are considering joining the Cow-Op, so stay tuned...
In the meantime if you know of anyone who may be interested in signing up for our Harvest Box or simply receiving these email newsletters for updates, please feel free to share this message.
We will be in touch again soon as events unfold, but until then stay healthy, stay calm, and carrot on!
- Niki, Nick, Fenna & Odi
